C Mixolydian is the 5th mode of the F major scale. Both share the same 7 notes — Mixolydian starts on the 5th degree (C) instead of the root (F).
The only difference is the 7th degree. C Mixolydian has a minor 7th (B♭), while C major has a major 7th (B). That flat 7th removes the leading tone and gives Mixolydian a more relaxed, bluesy feel compared to major.
