C♯ Mixolydian is the 5th mode of the F♯ major scale. Both share the same 7 notes — Mixolydian starts on the 5th degree (C♯) instead of the root (F♯).
The only difference is the 7th degree. C♯ Mixolydian has a minor 7th (B), while C♯ major has a major 7th (B♯). That flat 7th removes the leading tone and gives Mixolydian a more relaxed, bluesy feel compared to major.
