F♯ Mixolydian is the 5th mode of the B major scale. Both share the same 7 notes — Mixolydian starts on the 5th degree (F♯) instead of the root (B).
The only difference is the 7th degree. F♯ Mixolydian has a minor 7th (E), while F♯ major has a major 7th (E♯). That flat 7th removes the leading tone and gives Mixolydian a more relaxed, bluesy feel compared to major.
